This 2 month hands-on immersion guides you through the principles of permaculture design, sustainable construction, and regenerative architecture. Experience what it means to build with the Earth, not against it.
Each month blends theory, practice, and creative collaboration, empowering you to gain practical skills while connecting deeply to community and place.
March: Foundations of Natural Building & Model Making
May: Advanced Bamboo & Finishing Techniques also (Included: Bamboo Model Making)
What You’ll Learn
Foundations of Natural Building — soil testing, clay, sand, and fiber balance
Bamboo Construction — harvesting, treatment, joinery, and framing
Earthen Building Techniques — cob, adobe, wattle & daub, plasters
Model Making Course (5 days) — design your dream structure in miniature
Lime & Natural Finishes — base coats, finish coats, and natural pigments
Roofing Design & Layout — structure, insulation, and protection from rain
Tool Use & Care — sharpening, safety, and efficient workflow
Artistic Expression with Earth — sculptural design and creative finishes
Community Building Projects — collaborative hands-on learning

José brings over a decade of experience working with bamboo, adobe, cob, and lime plasters throughout Costa Rica. His approach combines traditional craftsmanship, modern ecological design, and deep respect for the land.
